Saints of Soul
The Saints of Soul is an eight-piece ensemble reminiscent of early Motown. They incorporates a multitude of genres such as R&B, soul, jazz and blues into their sets. The Saints of Soul's distinctive vibe evolves from the eclectic roots of its members. Throughout the band's history, they have gone through a number of member changes, but their sound has remained solid.
The band, originally named J-Stone and the Saints, started out as a six-piece band playing in local clubs and parties. J-Stone left the band in 2002, and that's when Lead Vocalist Levi Johnson, Jr. joined the band. When Stone left, the band changed their name to the Saints and eventually became the Saints of Soul.
The band members who are from all over Metro Detroit including Ferndale, Clinton Township and Ann Arbor have played numerous venues and events, including Winter Blast and the Ann Arbor Summer Festival, which they've played every year since 2009.
