About

The Whiskey Charmers is a Detroit-based Americana band led by Carrie Shepard and Lawrence Daversa. The Whiskey Charmers formed in 2013 and have performed around the Detroit area, Illinois, Ohio, Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, Kentucky and West Virginia, Minneapolis, Colorado and Wyoming and have appeared on NPR’s “Red Barn Radio.”

Fans often compare their sound to the feeling of riding in the middle of the desert with the top down as “riding through the Mojave Desert in a convertible with the top down.” Another attempt to classify their music, one fan left a show calling it Chris Isaak Shoegaze Americana.

If David Lynch ran a juke joint out in the desert, or if Jim Jarmusch were throwing a hootenanny, or if Quentin Tarantino managed a cocktail lounge, the Whiskey Charmers would fit right in.
