About

The Sillies are a Detroit punk rock band formed early 1977 by auto assembly line worker Ben Waugh. The Sillies were one of the first of the New Wave of punk rock groups in the tradition of The Stooges, The MC-5, The New York Dolls, and mid-60's bands such as The Standells, The Seeds, The Leaves, etc. Their debut was second billing to The MC5 with Destroy All Monsters (Ron Asheton of Iggy & The Stooges plus MC5 bassist Mike Davis) as the opening act.
