About

The Shy has been a staple in the Detroit area music scene for over 35 years, making it one of the longest tenured acts in Metropolitan Detroit. The current trio featuring Larry Decker, Bob Sackey, and Bob Livernois has been together for 24 of those 35 years and, during this time, has enjoyed a string of successes , which date back to late the 1990's when they recorded "All That Matters" in Nashville and in 2004, the band's military tribute single "Thank You Jo(e)" was sent all over the world to troops serving our great country. Appearing with the Shy for many gigs is Keyboardist Phil Hale. Phil has been a Detroit mainstay for many years, probably best known as for his many years with vocalist Thornetta Davis.

The Shy continues to work with Nashville based John Jaszcz, a noted Grammy winning mix engineer & producer (Kirk Franklin, Wynonna, Collective Soul, Parliament, SONICFLOOD, Bootsy Collins - to name just a few). Jaszcz has been an important ingredient in The Shy's success, dating back to the 1980s.
