About

Seraphine Collective a 501(c)(3) nonprofit public organization is an inclusive, supportive and active community of feminists designed to foster creative expression and camaraderie among underrepresented musicians and artists in Detroit.

They present concerts and performances at different venues throughout the city, host an annual music festival and work-shops designed to educate and uplift women, POC and LGBTQ musicians and artists.

In November 2013, Lauren Rossi began a blog project featuring interviews and individual profiles of female-identified Detroit musicians. Her hope was to highlight, inspire, and encourage current and aspiring musicians in the area. These conversations sparked a rich exchange of ideas, including the need for a female-owned and operated venue, record label, recording studio, and workshops and classes where women could share their skills. Determined to actualize these ideas, Lauren created the Seraphine Collective--a group of ambitious women determined to promote inclusion in the Detroit music and art scenes.
