Owner

DALE SMIGELSKI.jpg
Learning to play guitar was always something Dale wanted to do, but there was never a place for him to learn growing up; so it was put it on the back burner for about 30 years. Dale decided to pursue his desire to learn to play the guitar, the search for a suitable instructor led to the School of Rock in Rochester. He has been a student there ever since and currently plays guitar in
Group Therapy, the Rochester School of Rock's adult band. He quickly became a big advocate for the program. 'When I heard about the franchising opportunities through School of Rock, I decided that I really wanted to bring students in my local area the opportunities that I got from being a student for over the four years at School of Rock. In my time with the School of Rock, I have done things I never thought I would do, including playing a concert in front of a live audience and recording a CD. These are invaluable experiences.' As a lifelong music fan, School of Rock has introduced Dale to local musicians and even allowed him to play local venues. 'Detroit has a rich history of rock and pop; it is just a part of the culture, and School of Rock really embodies all of that.

ERIC COJOCARI

General Manager

ERIC COJOCARI.jpg

Eric is the newest addition to the School of Rock Farmington. He is also a musician, and learned how to play music years before the School of Rock franchise was put into motion. So, when the opportunity arose to work in a field he loved, he jumped at it. Mostly self-taught, he picked up a bass at age 15 and it just took off from there. He has been playing in bands for over 20 years, and currently plays in several local groups: Ethos (Guitar), Siamese (Keyboards), and a Cure tribute band, Re-Cure (Guitar and Keyboards). He's excited to bring his years of experience in the music business to the School of Rock family. He has a love of all different styles of music and enjoys seeing the kids get the kind of musical experience that he didn't, watching them forge new lifelong friendships with fellow students, and applying the skills they learn at the school to everyday life.

Shannon was in the Wayne State Choir and played saxophone in their Lab III Jazz Band, and also has taken vocal and saxophone lessons there I decided to switch my major to Music therapy and transferred to Eastern Michigan University to do that. That is her current focus as of right now, and primary instrument is voice. So far, she has taken classical voice lessons for over 3 years at a college level. Currently Shannon is in White B. where she writes all of the songs, play guitar and sings. They are sort of a soulful jam band. Shannon is also in an all female Rage Against the Machine cover band.
