About

The Motor City Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1973 as the Warren Symphony Orchestra. The Warren Symphony Society Inc., the nonprofit behind the Symphony conducted a comprehensive 4 year study and in 2014 they realized that the orchestra was actually a regional and not a local group. Warren Symphony Orchestra was changed to “Motor City Symphony Orchestra” to reflects the regional location and maintains the stature as a symphony orchestra.

The mission remains the same to support and advance an orchestra of professional quality for cultural enrichment, entertainment and youth education.

Programs

Youth Concerts The concerts are aimed primarily at 4th and 5th grade students, but children of all ages will find them engaging. Home School groups are most welcome. The Warren Symphony Society provide educational materials that help prepare students for a rich, rewarding, entertaining, and inspiring— as well as educational— experience.

Classicalpalooza is a concert of specially composed and arranged music that puts a spotlight on each individual instrument. In addition, every participating musician is prepared to speak about his/her instrument and demonstrate its unique qualities. At the end of the 45 minute performance students are encouraged to participate in a Question and Answer session. The program can be altered to fit the educational needs of any grade.
