About

The Exhaust Tones are a Detroit band with a difference. There are three singers, three guitars and a tight rhythm section. They have a taste for the random and the rockin'. Music from six decades, mostly covers plus a smattering of originals. Tastes are far and wide! They take pride in covering songs out of the mainstream.

Many auto writers have come and gone from the band, all on good terms. Once a Tone, always a Tone.

The auto industry's influence on membership has been a consistent theme, while not a mandatory route to The Exhaust Tones membership. Some of them are media and communications professionals working in and around the auto industry, but they aren't a "car song" band. The The Exhaust Tones have played at the Woodward Dream Cruise, Detroit Rocks Annual Hyundai Auto Show party and various bars around metro Detroit. Some of their best gigs are private parties in backyards where the crowd comes alive and being paid with beer and food is more than ample.
