Casual Sweetheart formed after guitarist Erin Norris placed an ad on a feminist group looking for other women to play with. Formed in 2013, they hadn’t even met before their first practice. The band has had only one change in personnel when original drummer MaryAnn Kozlowski moved out of state in 2014. Casual Sweetheart is Erin Norris, Lauren Rossi and Dina Bankole. There music is a blend of psychedelic punk and avant-garde garage rock and they're also heavily involved in the Seraphine Collective' a community organization of feminists that advocate for underrepresented musicians and artists in the area. Seraphine Collective was founded by Rossi who serves as President, with Bankole as Vice President.
