This group from Detroit has a sound and personality that is pure entertainment. Strongly rooted in the R&B sounds of 'Motown', The NYCE Band mixes the diverse styles and rhythms of Jazz, Funk, Blues and Rap to excite and swing you from every mood and angle. Their performances have energy and wit that can spark any crown while maintaining the sensitivity and subtlety of true professionals. Collectively they have over 100 years of musical experience and have performed with some of the top names in the business from Aretha Franklin to Stevie Wonder. The NYCE Band can be seen every Saturday night at the Raven Lounge.

an is a well-known drummer in the Metro Detroit area. In addition to his very creative talent as a drummer, he has a superb ear for music which accounts for a wonderfully rich and versatille singing voice (on lead and background vocals). Jan has played in most major clubs and has done studio work with many of the best groups, including The Four Tops, Enchantment, The Floaters and Q.T. Hush. Jan's wisdom, stability and sensitivity add important factors to the group.

Richard 'Count' Jackson

The multi-talented Richard 'Count' Jackson plays keyboards, trumpet and is an accomplished vocalist. Richard studied the trumpet as a young man and mastered the instrument so well that he captured the first chair position in his High School Concert Band. Count started playing keyboards for numerous band in 1998 and has performed with a number of artist. Not only does he play Jazz, R&B and Blues, but also plays Gospel as 'Minister of Music' at First Greater Baptist Church in Northwest Detroit.

Robert 'The Lover' Mitchell

Robert has been performing on guitar and singing professionally since the age of 15. Entertaining for over 35 years, his musical acumen and abilities have been honed via performances with such as The Contours to The Coasters. This experience has enabled him to become adept in various musical styles including R&B, Jazz, Soul, Reggae, Fusion and Blues. Robert's ability to adopt and blend musical palettes has enabled him to tour with several groups in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

John 'Bass' was born into a musical family which nourished his talent and desire to play the Bass Guitar. John was influenced at an early age by Big Band Music, Gospel and The Motown Sound. In the mid 70's, John recorded with groups such as Chapter 8, Enchantment, The Floaters, The Spinners and Spanky Wilson, while traveling locally and abroad for over 15 years. John continues to enjoy entertaining the public, on stage, in the zone and being a smooth operator.
