The MotorCity Tones perform cool original songs, rockin' blues, and unique interpretations of classic rock tunes.

The group has been featured in events such as Warren's Cold Rush winter festival, the Royal Oak Arts Council's Art Active Classic, the Detroit Blues Challenge, Rochester's "Girl's Night Out," the Detroit Blues Society Monthly Meeting and Jam, the benefit concerts for Friendship House, the Coffee Concert Series in Madison Heights, Paul Miles' "Help Your Neighbor Project" and the Orion Township Artist Series.

In 2005 they contributed an original song, "Windy City" to "Blues For Katrina and the McDowell Family" a CD released by No Cover Productions #NCP071 to benefit the families of the three sisters of local bluesman Odell "Bluesboy "D" who lost everything in the Hurricane.

Joe Ballor who contributes vocals, octave mandolin, and harmonica also writes a blog covering Blues music in the Detroit metropolitan area JB Blues.
