About
The Luddites are an 11 piece folk orchestra that redefines the image of acoustic music. The Luddites take their name from a radical group of English textile workers and weavers in the 19th century who destroyed weaving machinery as a form of protest to preserve the ideals of humanity and craftsmanship.
The Luddites have made a mark for themselves by being one of the most musically diverse acts out there, combining everything from folk and rock to Klezmer, Bourbon Street swing, ska, jazz, Latin and Afro-Cuban styles into a surprisingly palatable and playful blend.
