About

Jackson and the Poolsharks L-R
Josh Miller, Daniel Jackson, Steven Stocker, Nick Sabella

Jackson and the Poolsharks centers around the stylings of Detroit-based songwriter Daniel Jackson. While remaining reverent to the southern rock and blues records his father exposed him to at a young age (Lynyrd Skynyrd, Allman Brothers, Rolling Stones), Jackson includes the more contemporary post-punk and power-pop influences he explored in his formative years. The result is a punky yet groovy, dirty yet pop-sensible hybrid which Jackson can claim entirely as his own.

Jackson originally cut his teeth with the celebrated Detroit band “The Jet Rodriguez”, and in 2016 he released his first solo album under the name “Jackson and the Poolsharks”. The core ensemble was made up of Scott Demers and Josh Miller, both former members of Detroit’s own “Dharmapala”, as well as additional support from Cameron Navetta of “Cameron Jones” and the multi-talented Nick Sabella.
