The Eastside Tavern (Known as Frank's Eastside Tavern to locals) is Mt. Clemens oldest bar. An historic Blind Pig left over from Prohibition. Eastside tavern is a Basement Bar that's in the basement of a century-old little farmhouse. Eastside Tavern has been slinging drink since 1909, despite the area's residential zoning, the Eastside Tavern pre-dates zoning laws by over 80 years, and was grandfathered in, allowing it to remain a neighborhood fixture.
Open the door and you go down the narrow staircase directly into the bar, a tiny 30 x 15 foot space lined in wood paneling with a ceiling so low anyone over 6 feet tall has to duck because the ceiling is only 6 feet high. They have live entertainment every Saturday and every Wednesday night Bobby Black preforms.
Known for their burgers which are much more than JUST a burger but an experience! Frank DeBruyn the owner who lives upstairs in the Farmhouse goes out every day and buys fresh sirloin. They also serve up a awesome fried bologna sandwich.
