Eastside Drive began as a collaboration of journeymen musicians with one common goal: play music they all love and enjoy the process of delivering a quality performance to audiences who enjoy solid classic American inspired Rock N Roll... sometimes with a Jazzy edge.

ESD puts forth an eclectic mix of popular classics from Steely Dan, Tom Petty, Eagles, Boz Scaggs, Hall & Oates to name a few. Their musical beginnings are rooted in the 60s & 70s. The halcion days of Rock and Roll, and their East Side roots serve as the backdrop,

Colleen Beaton's live performances have included some very auspicious musicians: Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band, Curtis Gatson , The Boone brothers and Isaac Hayes to name a few

Mike is a former Sax player who enjoys playing classic rock and jazz, His main percussion influences include Dave Weckl, Steve Gadd, and of course Buddy (Rich). "It's all about putting the right notes in the right places

Nobody seems to know where he came from..he just showed up with his bass...once shared the stage with Hendrix (till security showed up...) ...allegedly killed a man in Reno (just to watch him die ) Has nothing left to lose, so don't ask him to play Sweet Home Alabama or Proud Mary...


Gerry Mattei

Raised in Detroit, Gerry began playing drums at age eight and switched to guitar at ten. He started his first band a year later and has been in bands pretty much ever since. He’s done musicals, backed up singers, played in horn bands, played bars, festivals, weddings, etc. Gerry does most of the musical arrangements and acts as the band’s musical director. His influences include Steely Dan, Chicago, Larry Carlton and David Gilmour.


Mark Pittel

Keyboard, Vocals

Mark has played piano since he was twelve. Raised in St. Clair Shores, he attended Notre Dame and Lakeview High Schools. His influences include Donald Fagen and Leon Russell. He has played with a number of area bands for the last several years.

Paul James Witulski

Guitar, Vocals

Paul began playing guitar in 1969; and it's Gerry's fault he's in the band!!! (Paul was a student of Gerry Mattei’s…) Paul’s guitar hero Terry Kath (Chicago) left an indelible mark on his musical taste and direction. Paul has played in numerous bands over the years, playing mostly solo acoustic gigs for the last two decades.
